Cards from Stockton...

I am currently visiting my folks in Stockton, CA. I have been using Libi's nap time to make some cards. It has been a good challenge for me: I don't have my stash of stuff and supplies so I'm having to think outside of the Dopey Room :)I've been making card sets-- not sure if I'll send them out or package them up as gifts, but it's been fun to do! This paper was from one of those huge stacks that you buy at Michael's-- Mom didn't keep the pack in tact so I don't know the exact manufacturer. The supplies I do know are as follows:
Dancer white ribbon by Offray Ribbon
Orange/Yellow ribbon by Joanne Craft Essentials
Butterfly, flowers and leaves Fieldhouse by American Crafts
Brads by Making Memories
"Be Happy" stamp Zinnia clear stamps by Little Yellow Bicycle
Black ink by Adorondack Ink
Staples
I just loved adding dimension to the printed flowers with these paper flowers-- and the colors are so bright and cheery!I think that considering the fact that I'm designing on the kitchen table they didn't turn out too badly!

Cricut card class...

Last week I took a class on how to use the Storybook cartridge for the Cricut at my Mom's LSS Memories for the Making. We made this darling card using one of the frames on the cartridge.
Sadly I can't tell you the brand of paper we used because the instructor has yet to send us the sheet of specifics. We did use a little paper flower and rhinestone to accent the owl!

I can't wait to play some more with some of the other frames on the cartridge to see what I can make :)

End of 4th of July cards...

Well we had a great holiday here and I thought I'd take the rest of the best of my 4th of July cards and quickly show them to you here. Starting tomorrow I will be sharing cards that I've made while vacationing at my parents home in Northern California. I've been much better about making supply lists, so if anyone wants to replicate what I've done I will be able to give them more information. This one was kinda cool-- I used a flag sticker on card stock and then I put the whole thing on a piece of denim. What could be more American than denim???Here's another really simply card: patterned paper, matted sticker, and a border punch! This paper was in my discard pile as something I would never use on a scrapbook LO, but I love it on this card. Add 2 flowers, a brad, a scrap of red patterned paper and a sticker to very dated paper and you have a sweet little card.I think this was my husband's favorite card I made this holiday. I used a red floral paper that I got in a scrap kit from a LSS, part of a border sticker, buttons and wire to tie them on. I hate my writing but I really wanted a sentiment on the front so I bit the bullet and wrote it on there. These last two are my favorites for the season--- I used the same sheet of stickers that I purchased from Katie's World (a LSS near my Mom's house) a few years ago.I added patterned paper, some buttons, silver charms, and a sticker and voila! two very sweet cards!

I hope everyone had a great holiday with family and friends! God bless the USA!!

Countdown to the 4th...

This card was super simple, but it was one of my favorites. It was navy blue card-stock, cream card-stock uct into squares, and patriotic stickers. The stickers were part of a sheet with an Uncle Sam and Statue of Liberty which I used on other cards I'll share this weekend.I used this ruler ribbon that I've been saving forever and a silver charm to highlight the "4" for the Fourth of July.

It simply love this card-- can't wait to get home and use this ribbon and this design lots, lots more!!!!

More cards for the 4th...

I made two very similar cards using a highly glossy paper that came in a page kit a million years ago.
I used the "Happy" stamp from unity (I think it's the March set-- but I'm not 100% sure not having my stamps right beside me!) The "fourth" is using bead stickers-- I love the look of them but I never use them.
The main difference between the two cards is the ribbons I used. On the card above I used some beaded ribbon that I think Tami gave us as part of a Disney Club kit at my LSS. The red gingham is a sticky ribbon from SI (if memory serves!)I used the same red but a simpler sheer navy ribbon on the second card. All of the metal embellishments are from a Oriental Trading July embellishment kit.

Several of my family began receiving their cards in the mail today. I'm anxious to hear if they survived!
